Police Foundations is one of the best community
service career paths in Canada. This program provides
individuals with
the foundation, knowledge and basic skills needed for
successful
employment in the field.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates have a
wide range of options when deciding where to apply their
training in
the Police Foundations field. Some areas to consider
include
working in, Ontario Police Services, Public Security Guard,
By-Law
Enforcement, Private Security and Investigation Firms,
Conservation
Officers/Park Wardens, Federal Enforcement Agencies (RCMP, and
Customs
Officers), Railway Police, Military Police, and Civil
Enforcement.
Prerequisites
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma,
General Education Diploma or Mature Student Status
Graduation Requirements
An overall average of 70% must be obtained to graduate.
A
minimum mark of 60% must be achieved to pass any given module.
Prior to graduation, students are required to produce evidence
of the
following:
- Completion of 100 hours of volunteer work experience
- Successful completion of First Aid and CPR
- Successful completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Submission of Criminal Reference Check
